QSA (4 bars inc Relief of Kimberley) and KSA (both bars) Dragoon Guards

Queen’s South Africa Medal with 4 clasps – Relief of Kimberley, Paardeberg, Driefontain, Transvaal – to 3341 T. Thomas 3rd Dragoon Guards and King’s South Africa Medal with both 1901 and 1902 clasps to 3374 Private T. Thomas 6th Dragoon Guards.   The medals are in very fine (cleaned in the past) and service record copies confirming the clasps and numbers are included.

Thomas Thomas was born in Haverfordwest and enlisted in the 6th Dragoon on 1st July 1895 aged 18. He served in South Africa from 3rd November 1899 to 2nd June 1903. He was posted to the 3rd Dragoon Guards on 15th August 1902 and discharged from the army on 30th June 1907.

Grading coins is somewhat subjective with increasing numbers of dealers, especially on eBay, avoiding giving a grade at all or describing a coin as “high grade” or similar. You should make you own mind up about the condition of the coin but if you’re new to collecting I would encourage you to take advice. There are a great many groups on social media sites with experienced collectors and dealers posting coins that you can look at which will help you learn to grade coins and feel free to copy any of my images to post on groups to get opinions on the actual coins I’m selling.

I’ve made every effort to provide good quality images of the items I sell but, with coins especially, there’s no substitute for having it in hand to examine it under a lens to assess it. If you buy anything from me and are disappointed when you receive it, for any reason, send it back in the same condition as it was received and I will refund you, minus the cost of postage.
