George II 1746 Lima Half Crown GF-AVF

George II 1746 Lima Half Crown edge year Decimo Nono. Pleasant light tone with a gold hue, there’s a scratch in the reverse field (top left quater, see photo) otherwise Good Fine or Almost Very Fine.

The Lima coins were struck from silver captured from two French treasure ships in the Atlantic in 1745.  The Lima privy mark was added to the coins as most of the captured silver was in the form of Spanish 8 reales from the Lima mint.
